30 date ideas and romantic scenarios to script into your dr

In honor of it being Valentine’s Day, this newsletter is going to give you 50 things to script into your DR — Romance Edition! Without further ado…let’s get started!

Arcade Night

This is perfect for couples that have a competitive relationship! Not only will this help fuel your competitive side, but it’s laid-back, vibe-y, and playful!

Scenario(s): Playing DDR with your s/o while holding hands.

Farm Fun

This is good for those that have more low-key relationships, or are shifting to small town DRs or other cozy places.

Scenario(s): Your s/o (or you) handpicking flowers for a surprise bouquet. Feeding each other the fruits you handpicked.

Camping

This is for the couples that are the outdoors-y type. This is also a great way to get to know your s/o and spend time with them away from the city and internet.

Scenario(s): Cuddling by your man-made fire to stay warm at night before heading inside your tent for bed.

Horse Riding

This can be for people that just like to do something unconventional, or even people that have country/royal DRs where horses are quite the matchmakers.

Scenario(s): Challenging your s/o to race your horses on a trail (and winning, or losing—however you choose!)

Karaoke

Chaotic and playful, this is good if you’re just looking for a musical fun time. This helps especially if you or your s/o is in the music industry.

Scenario(s): Doing drunk karaoke with your s/o and performing a very…interesting duet!

Pottery

This is just a general romantic idea if you both appreciate doing hands-on arts.

Scenario(s): Doing those cliche “Put your hands on mine while I spin the wheel” moment.

Painting (With a Twist)

Same as pottery, but this is fun if you like to spice things up with a regular and practical hobby.

Scenario(s): Doing tipsy paintings with your s/o and having your friends judge which one was better!

Stargazing

This is vibe-y, relaxing, and romantic. If you or your s/o care about the stars, it’ll be a beautiful sight to see. This is also something that has been a popular date idea since forever.

Scenario(s): Sitting on the hood of your car at the tall point of a mountain with a couple of beers (or sodas!) as you gaze at a clear view of the night sky.

Night Swim

This is just something sweet and simple. You can be free-flowing just like the water you’re diving into!

Scenario(s): Going for a night swim in an ocean (or any other body of water) and kissing your s/o underwater

Picnic

Old-fashioned and very fluffy. This is the perfect chance to really care for each other through feeding each other, making your own lunches to bring, and also basking in the wonderful environment.

Scenario(s): Tossing food for each other and maybe even feeding some of the passing ducks or cloud-gazing.

Baking

This is perfect if you or your s/o is a chef/baker. This is such a fun, loveable moment between you two while cooking up something great!

Scenario(s): Having a flour fight between you in the kitchen and smashing whip cream onto each other’s faces. Messy, but fun!

Scenario(s): Your s/o (or you) pranking each other by putting the gutter guards up (or down) constantly. It’s so annoyingly cute!

This is for the couples that like to curl up with books and immerse yourself into another world (see what I did there?). A library date is nice and quiet, and it’s also suitable for a good study-date!

Scenario(s): Playing hide-and-seek with your s/o in the library. Bonus points if it’s after-hours and you’re trying not to get caught by security!

Museum

Sophisticated and eye-opening. It’s a perfect place to get some inspiration and see the beauty in both your s/o and art!

Scenario(s): Holding hands with your s/o through each exhibit while they tell you things about how a specific art piece reminds them of you.

Shopping Spree

Like buying stuff but hating to spend it? Don’t worry, shopping spree is on your s/o (or you, if you like to spoil!)

Amusement Park/Carnival

For the thrill-seekers! This is overall a fun date for you both, and it’s great to bring home some prizes and fun memories!

Scenario(s): Spending all day at an amusement park/carnival and winning prizes for each other, enjoying funnel cakes, and kissing at the tip of the Ferris Wheel.

Movie Theater

It’s a great way to practice non-verbal communication and small intimacy! It also gives you both a lot to talk about afterwards.

Scenario(s): Resting your head against your s/o’s shoulder while you’re watching a movie. Or, having your s/o comfort you in their loving arms when you get jump-scared.

Theater

Same as the movie-date. And maybe, just maybe, your s/o will perform a musical number with you in the rain.

Groovy enough to make you feel like you’re on “Dancing with the Stars”! It helps get in some fun and lighthearted exercise, while also being able to show off how well you two move together!

Scenario(s): Being dipped by your s/o, or dipping them, and getting a roar of applause from your dancing chemistry.

Lazy Day

Honestly, sometimes you don’t need to go to all the fancy stuff. You get to be casual and do whatever you want to do, but also being in each other’s company.
