IS Shifttok Dead?
Long ago…
in the year of 2020 was when “Shifttok” was born.
With it came many things, like: misinformation, funny and fake shifting story times, more draco memes, and a lot of drama. However, every year since then it’s been dwindling down which leads a lot of its inhabitants, us shifters, to wonder:
“Is Shifttok dying?”
Over the years the hype around Shifttok has dwindled down. This is due to a lot of the drama between popular Shifttok creators and the impacts of it, which usually resulted in one of them taking a long hiatus from Shifttok or even shifting in general. Sometimes they came back, and sometimes we never saw them again.
But this can’t be all, can it?
When you look at what shifttok has become now it’s not unusual to comment on how dry it seems compared to the liveliness it had in 2020. A lot of the “fun” content has been overshadowed by people’s hot takes on shifting, harsh motivation videos (which don’t really help as much as you think), and the repetitiveness of people telling others to “just use LOA” instead of letting shifters doing what we do best, figuring it out on our own.
Gone are the days of shifting storytimes—whether they were about DRs or just having a shift in general.
Gone are the videos about fun scenarios you were excited to experience.
Gone is the fun about shifting.
But don’t fret, I’m sure we can revive it!
When the TikTok ban threatened our beloved community there was a…shift? In our attitudes, in others involvements with the community, and in our content. Shifters are now seeking out the 2020 Shifttok nostalgia which is a good thing! And now that there are more resources that are soaring with the love from fellow shifters, like this website, the Nexus, and the Shifting Shoppe—Shifttok seems to be on the right path. Well, at least for now. But I’m sure everyone has got this handled.
Shifttok is like a flower, we just have to take the time to nurture it and let it grow.
